By using retroports.com, you agree to these terms. They're meant to be readable. Email us if anything is unclear.
1. The product
The R36S is a third-party retro gaming handheld manufactured in Shenzhen, China. We resell it from a U.S. warehouse. We are not the manufacturer. We do not own the trademark "R36S," which is itself an industry-standard product family.
The device is a Linux-based emulation platform. Custom firmware is available from the open-source community (ArkOS, muOS, ROCKNIX, MinUI). We provide stock firmware; what you do after that is between you and the documentation.
2. Emulation and ROMs
Emulation itself is legal in most jurisdictions. The legal status of ROMs depends on whether you own the original game and the laws of your country. We pre-load the device with a curated library for convenience. By using the device, you take responsibility for compliance with the law in your jurisdiction. We are not responsible for your ROM library.
3. Orders, payment, and shipping
All orders are subject to acceptance and stock availability. We may decline an order at any time, particularly if we suspect fraud or shipping address issues. Prices are in USD unless otherwise noted. Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
See our Shipping and Refund Policy pages for details.
4. Warranty
The device carries a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover: damage from drops, water exposure, modifications you made (yes, including flashing custom firmware that bricks it — we'll still help you recover, but it's not a warranty claim), or normal wear on the joysticks and buttons.
To make a warranty claim, email hello@retropulse.com with your order number and a description of the issue. We'll respond within two business days with next steps.
5. Acceptable use of this site
Don't try to break things. Don't probe for vulnerabilities (responsible disclosure: hello@retropulse.com). Don't post abusive reviews. Don't scrape the site for commercial purposes without permission.
6. Intellectual property
The site design, copy, photography, and brand assets are owned by retroports.com. The R36S name is generic and not owned by us. Game titles, console names, and platform logos referenced on this site belong to their respective owners and are used nominatively.
7. Disclaimers
The site and product are provided "as is." We don't promise the device will run every game perfectly — emulation is imperfect by nature, and we've been honest about compatibility limitations on the FAQ. We don't promise the site will be free of bugs or downtime. We do promise to fix things when they break.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the product or the site is limited to the amount you paid us. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages (lost time, lost saves, missed opportunities to play Chrono Trigger, etc.).
9. Disputes
If we have a disagreement, please email us first. Most things can be resolved with a conversation. If we can't resolve it, disputes will be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site and emailed to recent customers. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms.
